India’s wealth-management opportunity is expanding beyond the number of people investing. Portfolios themselves are becoming harder to manage. Mutual funds increasingly sit beside bonds, PMS strategies, alternative funds, insurance, offshore assets and GIFT City products, while many advisers still have to stitch together technology, reporting and product access themselves. Centricity was founded around the belief that wealth management needed a better operating system.

The Gurugram-based wealthtech company has now raised ₹280 crore in Series A financing led by SMBC Asia Rising Fund. Existing investors including Lightspeed India Partners, Burman Family Office, RAAY Investments, Kuldeep Rathi Family Office, Stride Venture and InnoVen Capital also participated. Founder and CEO Manu Awasthy told that the round comprises ₹230 crore in equity and ₹50 crore in venture debt, at a valuation of approximately ₹1,800 crore.

Centricity began in 2022 after Awasthy and other private-banking veterans saw wealth professionals navigating fragmented systems while trying to manage increasingly sophisticated client portfolios. Awasthy previously worked across 360 ONE Wealth, Citibank and Standard Chartered, while Centricity describes its broader founding experience as spanning institutions including Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Kotak and 360 ONE WAM.

Centricity’s bet is that the wealth manager should own the relationship while software carries more of the machinery behind it.

Its One Digital business gives financial product distributors technology and access to a broader investment shelf, while Invictus Private Wealth serves wealthy individuals and family offices. A third layer, its Global Private Client business, is being developed around NRI wealth and international investing, including GIFT City and offshore opportunities.

The underlying platform automates portfolio consolidation, investment monitoring, reporting and risk analytics. Centricity positions this as open-architecture infrastructure rather than a system designed primarily to push proprietary products, giving advisers a common layer across multiple asset classes and client portfolios.

The network has grown quickly. Centricity’s current website lists more than ₹16,000 crore in AUM, 20,000-plus partners, over 100,000 investors and a presence across 66-plus cities. The funding announcement also says the company works with more than 250 family offices and employs over 800 people. Centricity expects revenue to exceed ₹150 crore in FY27, while saying the business grew nearly 200% over the previous year. The latter figures are company-reported.

The new capital will strengthen Centricity’s proprietary technology, expand its B2B2C distribution network and accelerate its private-wealth and NRI businesses in India and overseas. SMBC also brings strategic banking and credit capabilities, giving the relationship a potential role beyond capital alone.

Centricity’s next test is whether wealthtech can become infrastructure rather than another investing interface. As Indian portfolios become larger and more complicated, the valuable layer may increasingly be the technology that lets advisers manage that complexity without letting the complexity reach the client.
