ClearJet Raises $25M to Build an AI-Orchestrated Parcel Network
Every day, thousands of commercial flights cross the United States carrying passengers beneath one network and unused cargo capacity beneath another. At the same time, e-commerce brands face an old shipping compromise: pay premium air rates for speed or accept longer ground transit. ClearJet was built around the idea that those two problems could cancel each other out.
Founded in 2022 by operations veterans with backgrounds spanning Flexport, Veho and DoorDash, the Austin-based company describes itself as infrastructure born from firsthand frustration with a parcel market dominated by a small number of national carriers. Rather than adding another fleet to the road, ClearJet began assembling airlines, sortation, regional carriers and software into what it calls a SuperCarrier.
That network has now attracted a $25 million Series B growth investment led by Edison Partners, with returning investors Venture53, Origin Ventures, Salt VC and SpringTime Ventures participating. Earlier backers include Sky VC and Tandem Ventures. The financing takes ClearJet’s total capital raised to more than $40 million.
ClearJet’s unusual asset is not the aircraft. It is the ability to decide which aircraft, carrier and route should carry each parcel.
Instead of owning planes or building a national truck fleet, ClearJet places consolidated e-commerce parcels into available cargo space on scheduled commercial flights, moves them closer to their destination region, then injects them into local delivery networks. Its AI models choose routes based on cost, speed and geography across a network that the latest funding announcement says spans 95 U.S. airports.
That architecture turns traditional zone skipping into a configurable software problem. ClearJet’s platform brings air middle mile, regional and national carriers, sorting and integrations into one control layer. Its own operating philosophy puts configuration ahead of raw capacity, allowing a retailer or 3PL to change how parcels move without rebuilding the physical network underneath them.
The company says it now moves more than 30 million packages annually, while both parcel volume and revenue are growing about 2.5 times per year. ClearJet also reports savings of up to 35% and deliveries arriving one to three days faster for certain shipping patterns. Those performance figures are company-reported. Partners such as OnTrac and Veho have already used ClearJet’s air infrastructure to extend regional delivery networks across longer distances.
The next layer is less visible. ClearJet is applying AI to operational exceptions as well as routing. When a flight slips, its system is designed to evaluate recovery options, book an alternative and present the decision to a logistics planner for approval instead of leaving humans to rebuild the journey manually.
The Series B will support further network expansion and investment in that AI-powered logistics platform. ClearJet’s larger bet is that the next national delivery network does not need to own every asset beneath it. It needs to become exceptionally good at orchestrating the assets already moving.
