Backed by 22/x, Context Labs plans to establish an Abu Dhabi headquarters and expand verifiable industrial AI across the Middle East.
Abu Dhabi’s latest AI infrastructure investment targets a critical foundation of enterprise intelligence: data that companies can verify, control, and trust. Context Labs is bringing this approach to the Middle East with strategic backing from Abu Dhabi-based investment platform 22/x.
On November 2, 2026, Context Labs announced a strategic equity investment from 22/x, established by the Al Nowais family. The companies also signed a long-term agreement to establish Context Labs’ regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi and expand its AI data infrastructure across the GCC and wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Building a Verifiable Foundation for Industrial AI
Founded in 2016 by Dan Harple, Context Labs develops AI data infrastructure that connects fragmented operational, engineering, and enterprise information into a verified, auditable environment.
Its Immutably platform uses cryptographic verification and blockchain-enabled infrastructure to establish data provenance, enabling organizations to trace information back to its source.
On November 1, 2026, Context Labs launched AI Distillery, which transforms enterprise information into governed Context Packages. According to the company, these packages enable organizations to use AI models within customer-controlled environments while retaining ownership of their proprietary information.
“AI is only as good as the data underneath it,” said Dan Harple, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Context Labs.
Expanding Industrial AI Across the Middle East
The investment follows Context Labs’ August 2026 transactions with global commodities trader Trafigura, including the acquisition of Agora (Europe) Limited and its Kinertic carbon-intelligence platform.
Trafigura also made a strategic equity investment in Context Labs and signed a multi-year platform licensing agreement, supporting the integration of verified emissions data into commodity trading operations.
With 22/x, Context Labs now plans to extend its infrastructure across energy, utilities, and critical infrastructure, supported by regional industrial partnerships and sovereign-aligned computing resources.
“Success will be measured by practical outcomes,” said Ahmed Nasser Al Nowais, CEO and Board Member of 22/x. He identified improved operational visibility, more auditable decisions, and greater control over enterprise information as the partnership’s intended results.
The investment positions Abu Dhabi as a regional base for Context Labs’ expansion, with the companies aiming to help industrial enterprises adopt AI while maintaining control over their data and the evidence behind critical decisions.
