Maryland-based FlixMate™ has received support through TEDCO’s Concept Capital program as it develops a platform designed to help people decide what to watch and connect with others around entertainment.
Based in Upper Marlboro, FlixMate™ allows users to discover, save, share, and track movies and television shows. The company is building a social layer around streaming that brings audiences, creators, and entertainment culture into one community-driven experience.

Streaming platforms typically recommend content from within their own catalogs. That can leave users moving between multiple services, social networks, and search tools before deciding what to watch.
FlixMate™ takes a broader approach. Rather than relying only on algorithmic recommendations, the platform is designed around community participation and shared entertainment interests.
CEO Dr. Donnisha Beverly Davis said TEDCO’s support will help the company continue developing a platform that brings audiences, creators, and culture closer together.
