Sigvi Raises €1.2M to Automate Independent Car Rentals

Booking accommodation in Europe has become almost completely digital. Renting a car can still involve paper contracts, queues and limited opening hours, even as other parts of the travel industry move toward AI-powered travel technology.

Sigvi has raised €1.2 million in pre-seed funding to automate that process for independent rental companies and private vehicle owners. The round was led by Helsinki-based Superhero Capital, with participation from Vladas Lašas, chairman of the Lithuanian Business Angel Network, and other angel investors.

Founded in 2023 by Vytis Šliažas, Ignas Gibas, Darius Verseckas, and Mindaugas Banaitis, the Vilnius startup does not build or purchase its own fleet. It brings vehicles from independent operators and private owners into one network, then manages the rental process through its technology.

Sigvi’s AI engine handles dynamic pricing, reservations, customer support and predictive maintenance scheduling. Drivers can complete the booking digitally and unlock a vehicle with their phone, allowing pickups to take place without a counter or staff member being present. The platform also supports automated inspections and round-the-clock keyless access.

The company says its vehicles are typically priced around 30% below major international rental brands. Instead of adding newly purchased cars to the road, Sigvi focuses on professionally managed, existing vehicles that might otherwise remain unused for long periods. The pricing and sustainability claims are company-reported.

Sigvi entered Poland in June 2026 and currently manages more than 200 vehicles for tourists, business users and longer-term renters. The new capital will support further product development and international expansion, with the company aiming to grow its managed network to 2,000 vehicles within two years.

Its challenge will be maintaining consistent vehicle quality and customer service while combining cars from many separate owners and fleet operators. Sigvi has shown that the rental counter can be removed. It now needs to prove that the same experience can work reliably across a much larger European network.
