Most software enters a company through a login. Delos wants its software to enter through the org chart.
The company describes the distinction directly: “Not a chatbot to prompt. Real colleagues with their own email, phone and digital computer. Proactive, autonomous and working 24/7.”
Its AI Workers are given something closer to the setup of a new colleague than a conventional chatbot: a name, a specific role, persistent memory, an email address, a phone number and a cloud computer. They can communicate through channels such as Slack and Microsoft Teams, connect with thousands of business tools and continue working after the person who assigned the task has moved on.
That idea has now attracted €10 million in Series A funding, co-led by Bpifrance Digital Venture, C4 Ventures and Founders Future. Founded in Paris in 2023 by brothers Pierre de la Grand’rive and Thibaut de la Grand’rive, Delos says the capital will support commercial expansion in France and internationally while strengthening the technology behind longer-running, increasingly proactive work.
The interesting part is how far that takes Delos from the familiar AI assistant.
The broader Delos product began as a secure European AI workspace bringing applications, models and agents into one environment. Its platform still contains tools for presentations, meetings, documents, email, research and other office work. With Workers, however, the unit of interaction changes. Instead of deciding which application to open and what prompt to type, the user gives a goal to a role.
A sales Worker, for example, can prospect, follow up with customers, maintain CRM records and handle calls. Delos says Workers can operate across more than 3,000 connected tools, while persistent memory carries forward knowledge about a company’s preferences and processes. RAG gives them access to authorized internal information rather than forcing every task to begin from an empty context.
That autonomy is not supposed to mean unlimited access. Delos says tool calls are logged, permissions can be scoped to individual resources and sensitive actions can be configured to require human approval. Its architecture can also coordinate multiple Workers, allowing one specialist to hand work to another instead of asking a single general-purpose model to perform every step.
The model is already moving beyond experimentation. At the Series A announcement, Delos reported more than 300 customer companies and 2,000 Workers operating continuously. Investors also disclosed that recurring revenue had risen from €2.5 million to €5 million in three months, with deployments including TotalEnergies, Meilleurtaux and Icade.
The new money will therefore fund more than geographic expansion. Bpifrance says Delos will deepen R&D around two problems that become increasingly important as agents work for longer periods: remaining robust through long tasks and deciding when to act proactively rather than waiting for another instruction.
Perhaps the clearest demonstration of the thesis already exists inside Delos itself. Its funding announcement describes a company of 40 human collaborators and 30 AI collaborators.
For years, enterprise software has been sold by the seat.
Delos is betting that the next step is software you hire by the role.
